In the 7th minute, Luiz Paulo Borges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raphael Veloso's late challenge caught a Manguinhos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raphael Veloso helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Manguinhos booed when Cumbaubas AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raphael Veloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geraldo Figueiredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cauan Ferreira in the 12th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the game, Pedrinho Leite recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Paulo de Toledo. Pedrinho Leite showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Conrado dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedrinho Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Paulo de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 28 played minutes Cumbaubas AD got a freekick which was hit by Bernardinho Oliveira. When Durvalino Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Manguinhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durvalino Mendonça couldn't finish the play. Danilo Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Geraldo Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geraldo Figueiredo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raphael Veloso went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Danilo Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Geraldo Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedrinho Leite to make the kick off. Geraldo Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Pedrinho Leite scored 3-1 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo de Toledo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 66th minute Danilo Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geraldo Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 71 minutes, Cauan Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cumbaubas AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cauan Ferreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cumbaubas AD's Danilo Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 83rd minute of the match Wiliam Prata sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Geraldo Figueiredo skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Manguinhos getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Luís Fabiano Trancoso hit a great ball.
