After 11 played minutes Luís Eduardo de Alcântara rounded Vassouro SC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. 17 minutes into the match, Dias's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Rosado came free, but Célio Bittencourt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The long shot by Inácio Viana in the 25th minute really tested Arthur França's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Sandrinho Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Sandrinho Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vassouro SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sandrinho Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Célio Bittencourt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Eduardo de Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur França having to interfere. The Dias fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Dias's Antônio Carlos Marinho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Eduardo de Alcântara in the 41st minute of play forced Vassouro SC's goalkeeper Arthur França to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antônio Carlos Marinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Eduardo de Alcântara to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Antônio Carlos Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dias's supporters rose to their feet, but Antônio Carlos Marinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sidney de Andrade hit a great ball. Deivid Perez took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arthur França. Vassouro SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Arthur França took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Eduardo de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Vassouro SC's Sandrinho Silveira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Célio Bittencourt. That made the score 3-1 after 74 minutes of play. In the 77th minute Antônio Carlos Marinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur França saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Antônio Carlos Marinho came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Dias fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antônio Carlos Marinho couldn't finish the play. Vassouro SC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
