Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Edgard Miranda managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Hunters's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgard Miranda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roberto Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roberto Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hílton Vergílio in the 16th minute of play. Roberto Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Miranda in the 18th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Hílton Vergílio notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ipixuna's Roberto Quirino. Roberto Quirino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 25 minutes into the game, Ipixuna's Paulo Renato Bezerra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Remigio Guerra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Ipixuna's Roberto Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hílton Vergílio in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, The Hunters's goalkeeper Remigio Guerra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulão Macedo. In the 37thth minute of the game Hílton Vergílio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ipixuna's Roberto Quirino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 39th minute Edgard Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hílton Vergílio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Quirino having to interfere. Hílton Vergílio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Remigio Guerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinei Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinei Martins in the 57th minute of play forced The Hunters's goalkeeper Remigio Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ipixuna's zone, Hílton Vergílio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Quirino came out of the goal and Hílton Vergílio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dinei Martins took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Remigio Guerra. Remigio Guerra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ipixuna's goalkeeper Roberto Quirino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 70 minutes, Hílton Vergílio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Hunters's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hílton Vergílio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 73 minutes, Benjamim Faustino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ipixuna and the The Hunters players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 73 played minutes Ipixuna got a freekick which was hit by Benjamim Faustino. In the 75th minute, Edgard Miranda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Ipixuna's goal looked a bit too open when Hílton Vergílio came free, but Roberto Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Enio Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Hunters's supporters rose to their feet, but Enio Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Edgard Miranda kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Roberto Quirino. That made the score 2-2 in the 86 minute of play. When Ipixuna's José Maria Netto in 91 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Remigio Guerra guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Roberto Quirino was a little too slow when Hílton Vergílio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 93rd minute. The score was now 2-3. Ipixuna's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Edgard Miranda 96 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-4.
