Arí Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 5th minute, José Pedro Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arí Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oswaldo Queirós in the 11th minute of play. Clemente Vidal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Carcara SC's Cléber Negri got control of the ball when Robin Mellin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 18th minute, Henrique Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robin Mellin in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cléber Negri, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 26th minute there was a penalty for Carcara SC. Osmar Coelho stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Arí Recife. 0-1. Arí Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clemente Vidal in the 29th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Natã Paranaense during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of São Paulo F.C. booed when Carcara SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natã Paranaense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luisão Freitas kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oswaldo Queirós in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arí Recife saved São Paulo F.C. from getting behind. São Paulo F.C.'s Arí Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oswaldo Queirós in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oswaldo Queirós stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jorginho de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Arí Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in São Paulo F.C.'s zone, Jorginho de Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arí Recife came out of the goal and Jorginho de Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Robin Mellin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cléber Negri having to interfere. A collision led to São Paulo F.C. getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Luisão Freitas hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robin Mellin in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cléber Negri saved Carcara SC from getting behind. Arí Recife came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Carcara SC's Natã Paranaense. But to his dismay, Natã Paranaense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After having played for 78 minutes, Jorginho de Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carcara SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorginho de Carvalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carcara SC's Jorginho de Carvalho suffered a sore thigh after 91 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Enéas Bastos fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored São Paulo F.C.'s protests and gave Enéas Bastos a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, São Paulo F.C.'s Enéas Bastos got a free kick in the 92nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osmar Coelho in the 97th minute of play forced São Paulo F.C.'s goalkeeper Arí Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded Carcara SC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than São Paulo F.C..
