After 7 played minutes Ludgero SS got a freekick which was hit by Tarcisio Couto. After having played for 8 minutes, Natã Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Legionários FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Natã Sanches was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th minute, Geovânio Pimenta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nuno Fantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Ramón Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Fantini struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Ramón Favoretto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Legionários FC. Edinho de Carvalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Eduardo Marquez's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Lúcio Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Edinho de Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 26 minutes, Víktor Mineiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ludgero SS and the Legionários FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th match minute, Ludgero SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Víktor Mineiro to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovânio Pimenta in the 28th minute of play forced Ludgero SS's goalkeeper Ramón Favoretto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Legionários FC booed when Ludgero SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fábio Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ludgero SS's Luís Eduardo Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Legionários FC's zone, Lúcio Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edinho de Carvalho came out of the goal and Lúcio Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd match minute, Legionários FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurinho Camargo to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Eduardo Marquez in the 44th minute of play forced Legionários FC's goalkeeper Edinho de Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Geovânio Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramón Favoretto having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Geovânio Pimenta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Legionários FC defense, Luís Eduardo Marquez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edinho de Carvalho. The Legionários FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edinho de Carvalho should have stopped the shot. Edinho de Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lúcio Mendonça in the 96th minute of the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
