Emílio Simão's late challenge caught a Varzeas SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emílio Simão helped the player get up and apologised. Emílio Simão kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After 8 played minutes Araguary SS got a freekick which was hit by Betão Santos. Rubinho Jacinto struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Toninho Pimenta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varzeas SS. Bebeto Guedes kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. A collision led to Araguary SS getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Clóvis Gerber hit a great ball. Clemente Schmidt charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clemente Schmidt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 19 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Araguary SS! In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Varzeas SS. Raí Xavier stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Toninho Pimenta. 0-1. The supporters of Araguary SS booed when Varzeas SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caco Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute Betão Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Ramos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio Simão in the 30th minute of play forced Varzeas SS's goalkeeper Benedito Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Emílio Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adelino Arósio hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Betão Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Araguary SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Betão Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benedito Ramos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Betão Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Betão Santos made a kick off. Varzeas SS's Benedito Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emílio Simão in the 54th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Rubinho Jacinto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Toninho Pimenta was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Emílio Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Benedito Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emílio Simão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emílio Simão scored 2-1 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benedito Ramos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 74 minutes into the match, Varzeas SS's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Simão came free, but Benedito Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Betão Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Benedito Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Betão Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Betão Santos in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benedito Ramos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Caco Cearense charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Caco Cearense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 91st match minute, Varzeas SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caco Cearense to maneuver through the defense. Percy de Mendonça was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 92nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Benedito Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emílio Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Clemente Guerra struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Toninho Pimenta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varzeas SS.
