When Silvinho Urbano came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Domicilio SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvinho Urbano couldn't finish the play. Nuretama's Cesinha Quaresma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Secco in the 16th minute of play. Francisco Secco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Bebeto Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nuretama's supporters rose to their feet, but Bebeto Teles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Genílson Prestes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clemente Nunes charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clemente Nunes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Domicilio SS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nuretama:s goal. Jarbas Saldanha's late challenge caught a Domicilio SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jarbas Saldanha helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes Nuretama got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas Saldanha. After 43 played minutes Domicilio SS got a freekick which was hit by Edson da Silveira. After having played for 46 minutes, Bebeto Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nuretama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bebeto Teles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Domicilio SS's Genílson Prestes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Domicilio SS from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Kléber Madureira made the kick off in the second half. Domicilio SS's Genílson Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléber Madureira in the 52nd minute of play. Bebeto Teles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Genílson Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Nuretama booed when Domicilio SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edson da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 94 minutes into the game, Pedro Luiz Soeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nuretama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Domicilio SS the free kick. A collision led to Nuretama getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Pedro Luiz Soeiro hit a great ball. Jarbas Saldanha hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Nuretama's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
