Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Richard Ortiz in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristiano Pires prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 21 minutes into the match, Pirabibu's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Ortiz came free, but Cristiano Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 24 minutes, Richard Ortiz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Amontada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Ortiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26thth minute of the game Richard Ortiz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pirabibu's Cristiano Pires was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Richard Ortiz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristiano Pires was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. A collision led to Amontada getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Nelson Pirani hit a great ball. In the 31st minute of the match Rodriguinho Ceresso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luís Fernando Carneiro skillfully saved the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ivo Moura kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luís Fernando Carneiro. That made the score 1-1 in the 32 minute of play. Cristiano Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pirabibu's goalkeeper Cristiano Pires, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Amontada's Luís Fernando Carneiro got control of the ball when Remo Saldanha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Henrique Meira hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Narciso Moraes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cristiano Pires was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After the first half Amontada were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

If Richard Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Amontada booed when Pirabibu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duda Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Richard Ortiz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Cristiano Pires made a huge save. A collision led to Pirabibu getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Amontada's Luís Fernando Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remo Saldanha in the 66th minute of play. Cristiano Pires didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Amontada. In the 85th minute, Pedro Luiz Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nelson Pirani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Pires having to interfere. Narciso Moraes charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Narciso Moraes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Pirabibu booed when Amontada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narciso Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Pirabibu fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Amontada were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
