The crowd rose to their feet as Célio Batista kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edgard Baiano. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, Massaranduba SC's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago da Silva came free, but Antônio Carlos de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute, Lino Cavalcante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th minute, Massaranduba SC's Célio Batista dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Massaranduba SC's Antônio Carlos de Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donatello Soeiro in the 20th minute of play. Denílson Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After 23 played minutes, Apua's Lino Cavalcante shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Antônio Carlos de Andrade came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Apua reached it. With a little luck, Apua's Edgard Baiano got control of the ball when Zé Augusto Faria tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tiago da Silva struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Antônio Carlos de Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Apua. In the 32nd minute Donatello Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Carlos de Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgard Baiano made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Zé Augusto Faria sent off a good shot on target. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Célio Batista to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Célio Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Massaranduba SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Célio Batista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgard Baiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd minute, Célio Batista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donatello Soeiro struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Antônio Carlos de Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Apua. Antônio Carlos de Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donatello Soeiro in the 71st minute of the match. Tiago da Silva received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Antônio Carlos de Andrade came out and tried to block the shot, but Tiago da Silva slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 73rd minute. Massaranduba SC's Antônio Carlos de Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donatello Soeiro in the 77th minute of play. Donatello Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Antônio Carlos de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 2-2 became the score in the 84th minute when Donatello Soeiro elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Vitório Vale's late challenge caught a Massaranduba SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vitório Vale helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th minute, Vitório Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute, Zé Augusto Faria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edgard Baiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Célio Batista in the 94th minute of the match. Célio Batista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
