Dagoberto Martins stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Luiz Fernando Rocha. 2-1. 2-2 became the score in the 40th minute when Abelardo Prata elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Leandro Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
