Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelsinho de Senna in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elano Quadros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ernesto Marinho's late challenge caught a Cauan AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernesto Marinho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 44th match minute, Palermo SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Marinho to maneuver through the defense. In the 49th match minute, Cauan AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wágner de Souza to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 70thth minute of the game Marcus Vale who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cauan AD's Vinícius Tepedino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 72nd minute, Marcus Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Palermo SC fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when Palermo SC's Evandro Carneiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 85th minute, Nelsinho de Senna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Wágner de Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cauan AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Wágner de Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elano Quadros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcus Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute, Zeca Recife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute Marcus Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vinícius Tepedino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 98th minute, Palermo SC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Wágner de Souza fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
