Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Itaquatiara SC's Amadeu de Godoy started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Amadeu de Godoy hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Jean Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 8 minutes into the game, Dráusio Macedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itaquatiara SC the free kick. In the 8th minute, Dráusio Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Itaquatiara SC booed when Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josué Faustino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Igor Fernandes might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Augusto Salgado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Igor Fernandes ran back to his position shaking his head. After 18 minutes, Geovanni Lopes made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Itaquatiara SC's Chico Fernandes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Erivaldo Moraes took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Augusto Salgado. Carlos Augusto Salgado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedê Baptista in the 28th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Itaquatiara SC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Igor Fernandes hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean Melo in the 30th minute of play forced Itaquatiara SC's goalkeeper Chico Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Augusto Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeu de Godoy in the 32nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Jean Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmeiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean Melo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chico Fernandes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Adolfo Barreto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Chico Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Itaquatiara SC's goal looked a bit too open when Jean Melo came free, but Chico Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Marcel Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciro Marinho charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ciro Marinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Itaquatiara SC booed when Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovanni Lopes in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chico Fernandes saved Itaquatiara SC from getting behind. After 45 played minutes Itaquatiara SC got a freekick which was hit by Erivaldo Moraes. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geovanni Lopes to make the kick off. Jean Melo struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Chico Fernandes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras. Geovanni Lopes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Jean Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geovanni Lopes got free with Chico Fernandes in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chico Fernandes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanni Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by Itaquatiara SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Geovanni Lopes was slow to take the kick. During this time Palmeiras's players had a chance to rest. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Jean Melo took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Chico Fernandes to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet as Palmeiras's Jean Melo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Chico Fernandes. That made the score 1-4 after 91 minutes of play. With a little luck, Itaquatiara SC's Chico Fernandes got control of the ball when Geovanni Lopes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Palmeiras played a much better game than Itaquatiara SC and deserved their victory. The Itaquatiara SC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
