In the 3rd match minute, Macacu EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Naldo Queirós to maneuver through the defense. Naldo Queirós hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Sílvio Luís Valle struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. José Augusto Couto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perpetua. José Augusto Couto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luís Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the game, Albertino dos Santos threw the ball into play from the sideline. Macacu EC's Naldo Queirós quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Naldo Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Macacu EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Naldo Queirós couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Perpetua getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ezequiel Damião hit a great ball. Antônio Penha hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the game, Kiko Duarte was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Macacu EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Perpetua the free kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Sílvio Luís Valle made the kick off in the second half. José Augusto Couto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antônio Penha, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 54th match minute, Perpetua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermínio Toscano to maneuver through the defense. Rubinho da Mata didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kiko Duarte went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 65th minute, Perpetua's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kiko Duarte fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 66th minute, Macacu EC's Kiko Duarte dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. After 70 played minutes Perpetua got a freekick which was hit by Hermínio Toscano. Macacu EC's attentive Naldo Queirós managed to snatch the ball when Albertino dos Santos made a throw-in in the 73rd minute of the game. Kiko Duarte got in the 74th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Rubinho da Mata handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 76 minutes into the match, Macacu EC's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Penha came free, but José Augusto Couto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Augusto Couto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Penha in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Kiko Duarte ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rubinho da Mata was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Perpetua's Rubinho da Mata proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Perpetua from getting a goal against them. In the 87th minute of the match Albertino dos Santos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Augusto Couto skillfully saved the ball. Naldo Queirós hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Kiko Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Macacu EC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Perpetua throughout the match.
