Nilton Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardinho Freire in the 8th minute of play. Bernardinho Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilton Mota having to interfere. When Garanhuns FC's Bernardinho Freire in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Luiz Fernando Tande hit a great ball. Nilton Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bebeto Munhoz in the 46th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bebeto Munhoz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcinho Guerra kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. 53 minutes into the match, Paulista's goalkeeper Nilton Mota had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernardinho Freire. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardinho Freire got free with Nilton Mota in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice moves Bernardinho Freire could shoot a difficult shot in the 61st minute, which Nilton Mota however easily saved by the left post. After 65 minutes, Doni Linares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garanhuns FC and the Paulista players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 65th minute, Doni Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulista's Nilton Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bebeto Munhoz in the 79th minute of play. In the 82ndth minute of the game Bebeto Munhoz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paulista's Nilton Mota was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 84th minute Bebeto Munhoz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilton Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Paulista's goalkeeper Nilton Mota had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernardinho Freire. In the 89th minute, Luiz Fernando Tande ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabinho Prado was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 92 minutes into the game, Bebeto Munhoz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Garanhuns FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paulista the free kick. The supporters of Paulista booed when Garanhuns FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bebeto Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Paulista's Gonçalo da Mata got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Paulista were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
