When Murillo de Queiroz fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moeda's protests and gave Murillo de Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes Moeda got a freekick which was hit by Murillo de Queiroz. Adalberto Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Coelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Murillo de Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jardel Barral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Murillo de Queiroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Murillo de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd match minute, Graminea AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arthur Seco to maneuver through the defense. Moeda's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dalmo Lucas in the 36th minute. The corner ended in Dalmo Lucas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Graminea AD's Jardel Barral did a great save. Aluísio Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Adalberto Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Coelho in the 40th minute of play forced Moeda's goalkeeper Adalberto Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 41 minutes, César Tande managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moeda's supporters crossed their fingers, but César Tande was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Moeda's Murillo de Queiroz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jardel Barral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Jardel Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Tande in the 55th minute of play. Jardel Barral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Murillo de Queiroz's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulysses Cardozo during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 57 played minutes Graminea AD got a freekick which was hit by Ulysses Cardozo. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Tande in the 58th minute of play forced Graminea AD's goalkeeper Jardel Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Graminea AD getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Aluísio Paiva hit a great ball. Aluísio Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalberto Esteves having to interfere. Júlio Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Moeda's goalkeeper Adalberto Esteves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aluísio Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. César Tande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jardel Barral having to interfere. In the 81st match minute, Graminea AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomé Duarte to maneuver through the defense. César Tande received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Jardel Barral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adalberto Esteves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aluísio Paiva in the 87th minute. Jardel Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Tande in the 89th minute of play.
