An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho Pinheiro in the 6th minute of play forced Taquarana SC's goalkeeper Dida Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Taquarana SC's zone, Giovanni Arantes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dida Mazza came out of the goal and Giovanni Arantes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dida Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serginho Pinheiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Serginho Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Mazza having to interfere. Dida Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Francisco Toscano, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. If João Francisco Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paredes SS's goalkeeper Cléber Montenegro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Serginho Pinheiro came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Paredes SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serginho Pinheiro couldn't finish the play. When Romeu Toscano fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Taquarana SC's protests and gave Romeu Toscano a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Taquarana SC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Romeu Toscano hit a great ball. Dida Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Francisco Toscano, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. João Francisco Toscano scored 0-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dida Mazza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alex Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cléber Montenegro having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nuno Palmeira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. João Francisco Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Mazza having to interfere. Alex Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cléber Montenegro having to interfere. João Francisco Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco Toscano in the 72nd minute of play forced Taquarana SC's goalkeeper Dida Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, Nuno Palmeira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cléber Montenegro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Nuno Palmeira charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nuno Palmeira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Serginho Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute Nuno Palmeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cléber Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84thth minute of the game João Francisco Toscano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Taquarana SC's Dida Mazza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nuno Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Cléber Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Paredes SS's Serginho Pinheiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dida Mazza. That made the score 1-2 after 90 minutes of play. Cléber Montenegro came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Taquarana SC's Nuno Palmeira. But to his dismay, Nuno Palmeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. André Luís Gaspar hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
