In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Encardidos FC's goalkeeper Chicão Travassos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Chicão Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Paulo do Nascimento in the 6th minute of play. Campozeiro Football Club's José Paulo do Nascimento got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 12 played minutes Encardidos FC got a freekick which was hit by Sydney Gerber. In the 13th minute José Paulo do Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Travassos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hermínio Arósio in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rogério Vasconcelos saved Campozeiro Football Club from getting behind. José Paulo do Nascimento scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Chicão Travassos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Chicão Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Paulo do Nascimento in the 27th minute of the match. Chicão Travassos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José Paulo do Nascimento's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hermínio Arósio was the one to do the kick off. Rafinha Chaves lost his temper 53 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 52nd minute of the game. One of Campozeiro Football Club:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Encardidos FC:s goal. After a defensive mix-up in Encardidos FC's zone, Erivaldo Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chicão Travassos came out of the goal and Erivaldo Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Paulo do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Travassos having to interfere. Encardidos FC's Chicão Travassos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Encardidos FC from getting a goal against them. José Paulo do Nascimento might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chicão Travassos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Paulo do Nascimento ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Paulo do Nascimento got free with Chicão Travassos in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Abel Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Chicão Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute, one of Encardidos FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Encardidos FC. Chicão Travassos went to the wrong direction when José Paulo do Nascimento was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Erivaldo Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. Campozeiro Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Erivaldo Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chicão Travassos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Encardidos FC booed when Campozeiro Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dito Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oscar de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Arósio in the 94th minute of play forced Campozeiro Football Club's goalkeeper Rogério Vasconcelos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chicão Travassos came out of the goal and Oscar de Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Campozeiro Football Club players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
