The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Hortêncio Santana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chicão Breckenfeld was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Hortêncio Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Breckenfeld having to interfere. Osmar Mazza was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 17 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cajuapara fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 19 minutes, Taboquinho AD's Doriva Leme got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Chicão Breckenfeld. Ramiro Peres's late challenge caught a Taboquinho AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ramiro Peres helped the player get up and apologised. Ramiro Peres kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After 29 minutes, Maurinho Cosme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taboquinho AD and the Cajuapara players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cajuapara booed when Taboquinho AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurinho Cosme didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the game, Paulo Vergílio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cajuapara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taboquinho AD the free kick. Paulo Vergílio kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. If Nilton Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nilton Cardoso struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Ciro Dantas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cajuapara. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abel Magalhães got free with Chicão Breckenfeld in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nilton Cardoso was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Taboquinho AD's Hortêncio Santana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chicão Breckenfeld narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hortêncio Santana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Chicão Breckenfeld tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chicão Breckenfeld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 2-0 became the score in the 68th minute when Hortêncio Santana elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Taboquinho AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 76th minute, when Nilton Cardoso scored to the left of an out of position Ciro Dantas, making the score, 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Doriva Leme during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Cajuapara booed when Taboquinho AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doriva Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Abel Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Taboquinho AD's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
