In the 19th minute, Edson Ceresso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tales Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto da Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlinhos Xavier got free with Claudinei Pinho in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 31 minutes into the match, Caropanatuba's goal looked a bit too open when Eriberto da Fonseca came free, but Tales Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Caropanatuba's Délio Cosme got a free kick in the 35th minute. After having played for 97 minutes, Eriberto da Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leblon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eriberto da Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
