Piqui's supporters crossed their fingers, but Douglas Monteiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frederico Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frederico Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Novaes having to interfere. Piqui's Armandinho Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrézinho Valle in the 14th minute of play. When Frederico Dias came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Arcadia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frederico Dias couldn't finish the play. Andrézinho Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Novaes having to interfere. Frederico Dias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armandinho Novaes having to make a save. Carlos Augusto Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adhemar Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute, Guilherme Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Armandinho Novaes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuca Rosa in the 35th minute of the match. Arcadia's Frederico Dias got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Andrézinho Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the game, Piqui's Douglas Monteiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Augusto Velasco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Adhemar Novaes made the kick off in the second half. When Samuca Rosa fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arcadia's protests and gave Samuca Rosa a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Adhemar Novaes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Augusto Velasco was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Carlos Augusto Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Douglas Monteiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Frederico Dias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armandinho Novaes having to make a save. In the 66th play minute Frederico Dias came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Armandinho Novaes. 2-1. When Andrézinho Valle came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Arcadia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrézinho Valle couldn't finish the play. Samuca Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Douglas Monteiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Piqui fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 84th match minute, Piqui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Douglas Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. After 86 minutes of play, Arcadia's Frederico Dias made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Armandinho Novaes was left in no man's land by his defense there! 92 minutes into the game, Frederico Dias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Armandinho Novaes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Adhemar Novaes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arcadia were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
