The penalty shot was made by Antônio Leal, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Bancos's Augusto Garcia. 1-1. Augusto Garcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleandro Lopez in the 29th minute of play. After having played for 35 minutes, Osvaldinho de Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bancos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldinho de Azevedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Costaneira FC's Vitório Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldinho de Azevedo in the 42nd minute of play. Osvaldinho de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitório Berger having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and André Luís Leal made a kick off. In the 77th match minute, Costaneira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raí dos Santos to maneuver through the defense. Artur Gonçalves kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Juarês Terra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, Costaneira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Mota came free, but Vitório Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Fred Mota came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Bancos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fred Mota couldn't finish the play.
