The supporters of Opa booed when Inhai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabrício Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Hermínio Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th match minute, Inhai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edinho Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. Hermínio Aguiar took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised César Cardoso. César Cardoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdomiro Damião in the 20th minute of play forced Opa's goalkeeper Aleandro Urbano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edinho Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fabrício Costa's late challenge caught a Opa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabrício Costa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd minute, one of Inhai:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Inhai. Marcelo Pinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but César Cardoso made a huge save. Aleandro Urbano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valdomiro Damião to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Hermínio Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Opa's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermínio Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. César Cardoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aleandro Urbano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdomiro Damião in the 60th minute of play. César Cardoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermínio Aguiar in the 69th minute of the match. In the 73rd match minute, Opa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Pinho to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fábio Trancoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aleandro Urbano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdomiro Damião in the 78th minute of the match. Valdomiro Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleandro Urbano having to interfere. Luís Fábio Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Aleandro Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sydney Braga hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. If Marcelo Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
