After a defensive mix-up in Clube Bahiano Tênis's zone, Afonsinho Pires stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hudson Fernandes came out of the goal and Afonsinho Pires tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute, Xambre EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Délio Baiano fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Iuri Domingues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hélio Silva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Afonsinho Pires scored 2-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hudson Fernandes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Délio Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the game, Alfredão Araújo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Xambre EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube Bahiano Tênis the free kick. In the 46th match minute, Xambre EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredão Araújo to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Afonsinho Pires stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 62 minutes into the match, Clube Bahiano Tênis's goal looked a bit too open when Afonsinho Pires came free, but Hudson Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hudson Fernandes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Paulo Cosme in the 63rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Washington Moraes during the 63rd minute. If Iuri Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hudson Fernandes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Afonsinho Pires's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Zé Paulo Cosme could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Hudson Fernandes made a huge save. Afonsinho Pires's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hudson Fernandes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Hélio Silva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Délio Baiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Délio Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clube Bahiano Tênis's Iuri Domingues got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Clube Bahiano Tênis fans cheered their team off the field, for while Xambre EC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
