The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mateus Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laércio Tinoco having to interfere. Gamelleiras's Andrézinho Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuca Andrade in the 11th minute of play. When Tiago Gabriel Baiano fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gamelleiras's protests and gave Tiago Gabriel Baiano a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Gamelleiras getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Tiago Gabriel Baiano hit a great ball. Braga's Laércio Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blaž Trošelj in the 28th minute of play. In the 33rd match minute, Gamelleiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiago Gabriel Baiano to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Blaž Trošelj in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laércio Tinoco saved Braga from getting behind. When Blaž Trošelj fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gamelleiras's protests and gave Blaž Trošelj a yellow card for diving instead. Blaž Trošelj hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. The supporters of Braga booed when Gamelleiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manoel Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Blaž Trošelj made the kick off in the second half. The Braga fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laércio Tinoco should have stopped the shot. Laércio Tinoco made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Mateus Marinho sent off a good shot on target. Blaž Trošelj received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Laércio Tinoco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 88 played minutes Braga got a freekick which was hit by Eurico de Carvalho. Gamelleiras's Blaž Trošelj got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rafa Hermes charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafa Hermes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Mateus Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gamelleiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Mateus Marinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laércio Tinoco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Gamelleiras walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
