Lions's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 6th minute Valdir do Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisão Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vítor Lopes came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Sylar Footbal Club's Gil Sá. But to his dismay, Gil Sá quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Valdir do Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Lions's Valdir do Valle in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sylar Footbal Club's goalie prevented a goal. Lauro Branco charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lauro Branco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 31st minute, Lauro Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Lions's Valdir do Valle slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luisão Coelho. That made the score 1-2 after 35 minutes of play. In the 42nd minute Valdir do Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisão Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hernani Baptista hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Mané Pinheiro hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Valdir do Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisão Coelho having to interfere. After some careless play in the Sylar Footbal Club defense, Rodrigo Saldanha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luisão Coelho. The Sylar Footbal Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luisão Coelho should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Sylar Footbal Club's zone, Valdir do Valle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luisão Coelho came out of the goal and Valdir do Valle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luisão Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dida Santana in the 75th minute of play. 79 minutes into the game, Rodrigo Saldanha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Luisão Coelho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luisão Coelho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdir do Valle's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. If Dida Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Lions booed when Sylar Footbal Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luisão Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davi Xavier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luisão Coelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdir do Valle in the 90th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Lions had won after a very even match.
