Cristian Pires's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiago de Andrade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. After 16 played minutes Madeira got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho de Castro. Cristian Pires scored 0-2 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tiago de Andrade, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago de Andrade having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas Peixoto in the 28th minute of play forced Madeira's goalkeeper Tiago de Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute, Madeira's Wágner Hermes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Wágner Hermes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Madeira protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Wágner Hermes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 31st minute of the game. One of Madeira:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lindeza:s goal. Douglas Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago de Andrade having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Madeira's goal looked a bit too open when Douglas Peixoto came free, but Tiago de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudinho de Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Remo Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The supporters of Lindeza booed when Madeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Quaresma didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claudinho de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo Moreno having to interfere. Remo Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinho de Castro in the 60th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Douglas Peixoto got free with Tiago de Andrade in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hamílton Sampaio during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Madeira getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Hamílton Sampaio hit a great ball. After having played for 82 minutes, Douglas Peixoto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lindeza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Douglas Peixoto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tiago de Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 84thth minute of the game Cristian Pires who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Madeira's Tiago de Andrade was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Cristian Pires's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tiago de Andrade was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. In the 87th match minute, Madeira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hamílton Sampaio to maneuver through the defense. Claudinho de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zacarias Veiga hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Lindeza's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
