Manuel Antunes charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manuel Antunes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Matoes EC's Manuel Antunes got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Manuel Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Matoes EC's Simão Nogueira in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedé Melo in the 31st minute of play forced Matoes EC's goalkeeper Joélson Seco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the game, Laurinha EC's Alessandro Vinhas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joélson Seco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 40 minutes into the match, Matoes EC's goal looked a bit too open when Dedé Melo came free, but Joélson Seco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dedé Melo made a kick off. If Dedé Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reynaldo Cardozo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sílvio Luiz Diniz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. If Simão Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dedé Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joélson Seco having to interfere. Joélson Seco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessandro Vinhas in the 74th minute of the match. After 81 minutes of play, Laurinha EC's Dedé Melo made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joélson Seco was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sílvio Luiz Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Antunes in the 85th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Simão Nogueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Dedé Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dedé Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Joélson Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alessandro Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Laurinha EC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Matoes EC for a fine match.
