Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Romário Barral started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute Sandro Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wágner Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romário Barral might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafa Coutinho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Romário Barral ran back to his position shaking his head. Rafa Coutinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olavo Barral in the 11th minute. Wágner Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Romário Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romário Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wágner Linhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chicão Leal in the 23rd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Teobaldo FC's Pedro Paulo Queirós slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rafa Coutinho. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olavo Barral during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sabara booed when Teobaldo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olavo Barral didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wágner Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chicão Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rafa Coutinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romário Barral in the 38th minute. After a rather tough play, Sabara's Flávio Vale got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After having played for 47 minutes, Romário Barral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Teobaldo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romário Barral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The wind increased when Sandro Neiva made the kick off in the second half. Rafa Coutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romário Barral, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After having played for 62 minutes, Romário Barral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Teobaldo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romário Barral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Romário Barral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rafa Coutinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. A collision led to Teobaldo FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Romário Barral hit a great ball. Romário Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Rafa Coutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Teobaldo FC defense, Paulo Lago kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wágner Linhares. The Teobaldo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wágner Linhares should have stopped the shot. Wágner Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandro Neiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romário Barral struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Rafa Coutinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Teobaldo FC. Pedro Paulo Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Rafa Coutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Sabara's Flávio Vale ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wágner Linhares. Wágner Linhares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. 86 minutes into the match, Teobaldo FC's goalkeeper Wágner Linhares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chicão Leal. After 90 played minutes Sabara got a freekick which was hit by Flávio Vale. In the 91st match minute, Teobaldo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sydney Travassos to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Teobaldo FC's Wágner Linhares got control of the ball when Chicão Leal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sabara were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Teobaldo FC's much stronger midfield.
