Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Paulos's Zé Carlos Mendonça started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Americanos's Lino Luz got a free kick in the 6th minute. After 12 minutes, Marcelo Novaes made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Americanos's Maicon de Brito tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Paulos's Délio Melo got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 26th minute Zé Carlos Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maicon de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35thth minute of the game Marcelo Novaes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Americanos's Maicon de Brito was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcelo Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maicon de Brito having to interfere. The Americanos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Paulos were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Waldemar Bueno was the one to do the kick off. Telmo Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franklin do Vale in the 52nd minute of play. Genílson Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes into the game, Franklin do Vale cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Telmo Gaúcho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Americanos getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. José Maria Chaves hit a great ball. In the 69th minute of the match Hortêncio Tavares sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maicon de Brito skillfully saved the ball. Telmo Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar Bueno in the 71st minute of play. Genílson Carneiro's late challenge caught a Americanos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Genílson Carneiro helped the player get up and apologised. After 72 played minutes Paulos got a freekick which was hit by Genílson Carneiro. Lino Luz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Telmo Gaúcho. Paulos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Zé Carlos Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zé Carlos Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Maicon de Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Carlos Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcelo Novaes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Maicon de Brito made a huge save. After having played for 95 minutes, Zé Carlos Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paulos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Carlos Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
