Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tales Freitas started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Corinthians's Duda Loureiro got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tales Freitas in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Artur Vergílio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Corinthians's Artur Vergílio got control of the ball when Tarcisio Dias tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 16 played minutes Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Giovani Carioca. Patrick Alagoano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdomiro Soeiro in the 18th minute of play. Tales Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Vergílio having to interfere. Valdomiro Soeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patrick Alagoano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute Valdomiro Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Alagoano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tarcisio Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Vergílio having to interfere. The supporters of Passamanes booed when Corinthians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gláuber Mandrak didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Corinthians's zone, Tales Freitas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artur Vergílio came out of the goal and Tales Freitas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tarcisio Dias got free with Artur Vergílio in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 47th minute Laerte Couto managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Valdomiro Soeiro made the kick off in the second half. When Passamanes's Tales Freitas in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Corinthians's goalie prevented a goal. Tales Freitas kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Ulysses Baiano's late challenge caught a Corinthians's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ulysses Baiano helped the player get up and apologised. 70 minutes into the game, one of Passamanes:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Corinthians a penalty, 72 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Duda Loureiro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Passamanes's Patrick Alagoano. 0-1. If Tales Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Passamanes's Tales Freitas in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Corinthians's goalie prevented a goal. Artur Vergílio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tarcisio Dias in the 79th minute of the match. In the 80th match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Zonta to maneuver through the defense. Valdomiro Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Patrick Alagoano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Passamanes's zone, Valdomiro Soeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patrick Alagoano came out of the goal and Valdomiro Soeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patrick Alagoano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdomiro Soeiro's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Corinthians eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
