An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Pontes in the 12th minute of play forced Taquaperi's goalkeeper Hugo Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jaime Silva during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Taquaperi's Jaime Silva got a free kick in the 14th minute. After 14 played minutes, Sapucai's Fernandinho Moreno shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hugo Rossi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sapucai reached it. The supporters of Sapucai booed when Taquaperi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee showed Armando Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th match minute, Sapucai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Veiga to maneuver through the defense. Vítor Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Rossi having to interfere. If Anderson Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Vítor Pontes came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Sapucai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vítor Pontes couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vítor Pontes in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hugo Rossi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When Gino Valle fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Taquaperi's protests and gave Gino Valle a yellow card for diving instead. In the 51st match minute, Taquaperi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gino Valle to maneuver through the defense. Hugo Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vítor Pontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Sapucai's Vítor Pontes got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 63 minutes in the game, Vítor Pontes fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Hugo Rossi having to interfere. Amadeu Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulisses Pimenta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Anderson Schmidt came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Sapucai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anderson Schmidt couldn't finish the play. 90 minutes into the match, Taquaperi's goal looked a bit too open when Vítor Pontes came free, but Hugo Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ulisses Pimenta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amadeu Senna having to make a save. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
