Betinho Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rony Coelho having to interfere. 15 minutes into the game, Betinho Tinoco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Rony Coelho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Betinho Tinoco fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mandiroba's protests and gave Betinho Tinoco a yellow card for diving instead. Mandiroba's Elder Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Cosme in the 21st minute of play. Elder Bertassi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto Torres in the 34th minute of the match. After having played for 35 minutes, Betinho Tinoco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mandiroba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betinho Tinoco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Carlinhos Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rony Coelho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Betinho Tinoco in the 40th minute. Antônio Cosme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Cosme in the 44th minute of play forced Mandiroba's goalkeeper Elder Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Betinho Tinoco to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match, Antônio Cosme tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Elder Bertassi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Elder Bertassi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antônio Cosme's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Betinho Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antônio Cosme received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Elder Bertassi came out and tried to block the shot, but Antônio Cosme slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 59th minute. Betinho Tinoco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rony Coelho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. After having played for 79 minutes, Antônio Cosme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antônio Cosme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute Betinho Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rony Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Tara getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Daniel de Azevedo hit a great ball. Carlos Alberto Torres's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Elder Bertassi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Mandiroba booed when Tara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesinha de Godoy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Betinho Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chants of Tara echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Mandiroba had held the ball for most of the match.
