Canelada's Pedro Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgílio Monteiro in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of E.C. Canelada booed when Cataqueama FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal Toscano didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jano Freire came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the E.C. Canelada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jano Freire couldn't finish the play. Tadeu Madureira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Pinho having to interfere.

After a defensive mix-up in E.C. Canelada's zone, Virgílio Monteiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Moreno came out of the goal and Virgílio Monteiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aníbal Toscano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Moreno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Dedê Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Pinho having to interfere. Pedro Moreno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Correia in the 58th minute of play. With a little luck, E.C. Canelada's Pedro Moreno got control of the ball when Virgílio Monteiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Cataqueama FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clive Dearden came free, but Anselmo Pinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Correia ran back to his position shaking his head. E.C. Canelada's Pedro Moreno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save E.C. Canelada from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jano Freire in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anselmo Pinho saved Cataqueama FC from getting behind. Pedro Moreno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Correia, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Aníbal Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Moreno having to interfere.
