Apinaje EC's Lenílson Recife got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 13 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when AD Schlaps's Matheus Pires fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Benjamim Pirani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hortêncio Quadros in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the game, João Francisco Rodrigues cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Richard Trancoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hortêncio Quadros might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benjamim Pirani. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hortêncio Quadros ran back to his position shaking his head. Hortêncio Quadros's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Benjamim Pirani skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 38 minutes into the match, Apinaje EC's Hortêncio Quadros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benjamim Pirani narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of AD Schlaps booed when Apinaje EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizão Carioca didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Donatello Santana in the 48th minute really tested Benjamim Pirani's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lenílson Recife was the one to do the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in AD Schlaps fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 53rd minute. Penalty! Benjamim Pirani had in the 54thth minute some difficulties stopping Anísio Hoffmann's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If João Francisco Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lenílson Recife received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Benjamim Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Paulo Maranhense hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After 72 played minutes AD Schlaps got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luiz Sena. Benjamim Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hortêncio Quadros in the 73rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, AD Schlaps's Pedro Paulo Maranhense got a free kick in the 75th minute. If Pedro Paulo Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the match, Apinaje EC's goalkeeper Richard Trancoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matheus Pires. When AD Schlaps's João Francisco Rodrigues in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Apinaje EC's goalie prevented a goal. João Francisco Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Trancoso having to interfere. In the 88th match minute, Apinaje EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Álvaro de Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Marcus Quaresma kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Lenílson Recife recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to AD Schlaps getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Pedro Paulo Maranhense hit a great ball. The attack was good, but when Lenílson Recife in the 97th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The AD Schlaps players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
