Gurinhata SC's Régis Neiva got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Sudene FC's César de Carvalho got a free kick in the 7th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Gurinhata SC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Gaúcho came free, but Robinho Abraão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute Régis Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão Travassos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giovanni Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gil do Nascimento hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Renatinho Dante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robinho Abraão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giovanni Costa in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Régis Neiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Daniel Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Almir Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizão Travassos having to interfere. After 59 minutes of play, Sudene FC's Giovanni Costa made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Robinho Abraão was left in no man's land by his defense there! 64 minutes into the match, Sudene FC's goal looked a bit too open when Régis Neiva came free, but Luizão Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gil do Nascimento hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Gurinhata SC were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after Sudene FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mané de Castro took the corner. After taking down the ball on Gurinhata SC's corner Mané de Castro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luizão Travassos quite easily take care of the ball. Almir Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Luizão Travassos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Régis Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The supporters of Gurinhata SC booed when Sudene FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil do Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Sudene FC's Luizão Travassos got control of the ball when Fabrício Zanette tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fabrício Zanette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizão Travassos having to interfere.
