Mateus Vianna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robinho Abraão having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Marco Pontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mateus Vianna made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Régis Neiva in the 54th minute of play forced Balaka FC's goalkeeper Adilson Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Gurinhata SC booed when Balaka FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute, Túlio Mello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rdth minute of the game Mateus Vianna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gurinhata SC's Robinho Abraão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mateus Viannas short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Robinho Abraão to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 66th minute, Marco Pontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adilson Barral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Régis Neiva in the 70th minute of the match. In the 85th minute Mateus Vianna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinho Abraão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute, Marco Pontes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Balaka FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Pontes got free with Robinho Abraão in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
