With a little luck, Leda EC's Cesinha Aguiar got control of the ball when Aron Bäckström tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Gilvan Magalhães made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nilton Mattos during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 56 minutes into the game, Aron Bäckström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Cesinha Aguiar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 58 played minutes Leda EC got a freekick which was hit by Tarcisio Prata. In the 62nd minute Antônio Carlos do Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesinha Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cesinha Aguiar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antônio Carlos do Nascimento's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Chico Baiano got his second yellow card in the match during the 82nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 82nd minute, Chico Baiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cesinha Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antônio Carlos do Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antônio Carlos do Nascimento in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cesinha Aguiar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 95 minutes into the game, Gilvan Magalhães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leda EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mourao the free kick. Gilvan Magalhães hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Mourao's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
