After 11 minutes, Décio de Barros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guilhermino SS and the Guaratuba FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th minute, Décio de Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience held their breath when Gualter Paiva in the 13th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Arnaldo das Neves's left hand side. 15 minutes into the match, Guilhermino SS's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Arósio came free, but Arnaldo das Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guaratuba FC were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after Guilhermino SS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sérgio Tinoco took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Guilhermino SS's goalie and right to Jorginho Magalhães. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Guilhermino SS's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. A collision led to Guaratuba FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Rodriguinho Britto hit a great ball. Flávio de Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manoel Corrêa in the 20th minute of the match. Albertinho Souto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Arnaldo das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Víktor Paranaense could shoot a difficult shot in the 36th minute, which Flávio de Amorim however easily saved by the left post. In the 42nd match minute, Guilhermino SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manoel Corrêa to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the match, Ricardo Arósio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnaldo das Neves. Guilhermino SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ricardo Arósio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardo Arósio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ricardo Arósio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo das Neves having to interfere. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Guaratuba FC's Jorginho Magalhães in the 63rd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Arnaldo das Neves was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Guilhermino SS through an amazing save. 63 minutes into the match, Jorginho Magalhães notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Guilhermino SS's Arnaldo das Neves. Arnaldo das Neves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Guilhermino SS getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Hernani Antunes hit a great ball. Guilhermino SS's Arnaldo das Neves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Guilhermino SS from getting a goal against them. 72 minutes into the match, Ricardo Arósio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnaldo das Neves. The Guilhermino SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnaldo das Neves should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Ricardo Arósio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arnaldo das Neves. That made the score 1-5 in the 80 minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, Albertinho Souto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Arnaldo das Neves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jorginho Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo das Neves having to interfere. Guaratuba FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
