Reinaldo Mazza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Dagoberto Coutinho made a huge save. In the 13th minute, Samuel Santana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of ESTRELA AZUL booed when Agruel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind ESTRELA AZUL's goalkeeper Dagoberto Coutinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dagoberto Coutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmyr Jacinto, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the match, Walmyr Jacinto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dagoberto Coutinho. ESTRELA AZUL's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Walmyr Jacinto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Eliézer Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristóvão Gomes's late challenge caught a Agruel's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristóvão Gomes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Agruel booed when ESTRELA AZUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristóvão Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Geovanni Meirelles in the 40th minute really tested Dagoberto Coutinho's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a defensive mix-up in ESTRELA AZUL's zone, Samuel Santana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dagoberto Coutinho came out of the goal and Samuel Santana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Walmyr Jacinto made the kick off in the second half. Dagoberto Coutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr Jacinto in the 55th minute of play. If Walmyr Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cesinha Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 67 played minutes Agruel got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Santana. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Jacinto in the 72nd minute of play forced ESTRELA AZUL's goalkeeper Dagoberto Coutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 75 minutes of play, Agruel's Walmyr Jacinto made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dagoberto Coutinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in ESTRELA AZUL's zone, Samuel Santana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dagoberto Coutinho came out of the goal and Samuel Santana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dadá Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dagoberto Coutinho having to interfere. Dagoberto Coutinho came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Agruel's Walmyr Jacinto. But to his dismay, Walmyr Jacinto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Walmyr Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee ended the match the Agruel players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
