Agruel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Garcia the free kick. In the 11th match minute, Agruel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juarês Mineiro to maneuver through the defense. Agruel's Samuel Santana quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Dudu Passos, made in the 15th minute of the game. Juarês Mineiro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Caco Vergílio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 18 minutes, Juarês Mineiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Agruel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juarês Mineiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Reinaldo Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juarês Mineiro hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias de Carvalho in the 26th minute of play forced Agruel's goalkeeper Luiz Fábio Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Garcia booed when Agruel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Santana didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Elano Valladares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Mathias de Carvalho made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Marcel Eger threw the ball into play from the sideline. Agruel's Samuel Santana quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Josué Motta fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Garcia's protests and gave Josué Motta a yellow card for diving instead. Samuel Santana charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuel Santana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Samuel Santana kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Agruel's Reinaldo Mazza got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Anderson Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garcia's supporters rose to their feet, but Anderson Matorin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fábio Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luiz Fábio Mendes made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Anderson Matorin sent off a good shot on target. In the 94th minute, Anderson Matorin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Garcia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After 97 played minutes Garcia got a freekick which was hit by Mathias de Carvalho. The Agruel manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Garcia to win.
