Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Chiquinho Guerra started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Chiquinho Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itacamba EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Chiquinho Guerra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jarbas Ferreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquinho Guerra in the 5th minute of play forced Castro's goalkeeper Jarbas Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jarbas Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquinho Guerra in the 7th minute of the match. Jarbas Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chiquinho Guerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kaká Torres in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tiago Marquez saved Itacamba EC from getting behind. If Abelardo Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kaká Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Marquez having to interfere. After 21 played minutes Castro got a freekick which was hit by Diogo Lara. Jarbas Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Barral in the 22nd minute of play. Chiquinho Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jarbas Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Castro's Kaká Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abelardo Guimarãess short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Tiago Marquez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jarbas Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chiquinho Guerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute, Diogo Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jarbas Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Barral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Castro defense, Tony Barral kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jarbas Ferreira. The Castro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jarbas Ferreira should have stopped the shot. Chiquinho Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Ferreira having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Castro's goal looked a bit too open when Chiquinho Guerra came free, but Jarbas Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Ferreira having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Tony Barral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 58th minute Chiquinho Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarbas Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Chiquinho Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, one of Castro:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Castro. A collision led to Castro getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Inácio Montenegro hit a great ball. In the 74thth minute of the game Chiquinho Guerra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Castro's Jarbas Ferreira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristóvão Palmeira hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute of the match Luiz Guilherme Rocha shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jarbas Ferreira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Castro's goalkeeper Jarbas Ferreira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Chiquinho Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Castro getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Cristóvão Palmeira hit a great ball. Castro's Jarbas Ferreira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Castro from getting a goal against them. Tiago Marquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaká Torres in the 100th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Itacamba EC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
