Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Manfredo Aguiar made the kick off and thus started the match. If Abelardo Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agostinho Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abelardo Guimarães in the 8th minute of play. Abelardo Guimarães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Travassos having to interfere. When Abelardo Guimarães came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Castro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelardo Guimarães couldn't finish the play. Antônio Rezende hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Agostinho Travassos came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Castro's Kaká Torres. But to his dismay, Kaká Torres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 31st minute, Antônio Rezende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kaká Torres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Guimarães in the 34th minute of play forced Maracajatuba's goalkeeper Agostinho Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Manfredo Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eurico Moreno in the 40thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jarbas Ferreira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Agostinho Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaká Torres in the 46th minute of the match. Castro's Jarbas Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfredo Aguiar in the 50th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kaká Torres was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Maracajatuba's Armandinho Senna got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute, Kaká Torres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Antônio Rezende hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute, Castro's Kaká Torres dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Eurico Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maracajatuba's goalkeeper Agostinho Travassos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 71st match minute, Maracajatuba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedê Marinho to maneuver through the defense. Eurico Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
