Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cláudio Furtado started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Caco Aguiar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Herculano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itaquadiba FC the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of Herculano:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Itaquadiba FC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Bruninho Veloso, was totally fooled by Itaquadiba FC's Erivaldo Mineiro, who 4 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In a very dangerous position, a player in Herculano fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 11th minute. Penalty! 17 minutes into the game, Jarbas da Silva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itaquadiba FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Herculano the free kick. After a rather tough play, Itaquadiba FC's Jarbas da Silva got a free kick in the 17th minute. Cipriano Mendonças short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Bruninho Veloso to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bruninho Veloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deivid Azevedo in the 21st minute of play. Herculano's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Lúcio Moura scored to the left of an out of position Bruninho Veloso, making the score, 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Ediberto do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Herculano's supporters rose to their feet, but Ediberto do Vale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodriguinho Araújo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bruninho Veloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cipriano Mendonça in the 35th minute. Deivid Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Bruninho Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute Deivid Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruninho Veloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Vítor Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho Araújo having to interfere. With his leg Rodriguinho Araújo managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Herculano's Vítor Tinoco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Charles Leal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bruninho Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deivid Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Bruninho Veloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrique Amaral in the 79th minute of play forced Herculano's goalkeeper Bruninho Veloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Herculano's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Mendonça came free, but Bruninho Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
