The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafinha Arantes got free with Albertinho Brodel in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristiano Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dionísio Bertassi in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Guariroba's César de Sousa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Albertinho Brodel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Mirandella's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rafinha Arantes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 23 played minutes Mirandella got a freekick which was hit by Cláudio Matos. César de Sousa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Albertinho Brodel made a huge save. Rafinha Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Albertinho Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Mirandella's goalkeeper Albertinho Brodel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafinha Arantes. Mirandella's Albertinho Brodel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Mirandella from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Mirandella booed when Guariroba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aílton Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Cláudio Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mirandella's supporters rose to their feet, but Cláudio Matos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristiano Marques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Dionísio Bertassi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mirandella's supporters rose to their feet, but Dionísio Bertassi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 86th minute, Rubens Pitta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 90th minute, Geraldo Donatello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Despite being the better team, Guariroba failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
