In the 14th match minute, Itacara SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexsandro da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armandinho Schmidt in the 16th minute of play forced Itacara SC's goalkeeper Luís Paulo Botelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Soturna EC's Cristian Veloso got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 31stth minute of the game Armandinho Schmidt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itacara SC's Luís Paulo Botelho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alexsandro da Rocha's shot from long distance in the 34th minute was not bad at all, but Soturna EC's Hermínio Costa knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. After 34 played minutes Soturna EC got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Veloso. 36 minutes in the game, Osvaldinho Cruz fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Hermínio Costa having to interfere. Luiz Jacinto kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Soturna EC's Hermínio Costa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Soturna EC from getting a goal against them. Luiz Jacinto got his second yellow card in the match during the 55th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 56th minute, Luiz Jacinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Soturna EC's Armandinho Schmidt got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elder de Brito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Armandinho Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Soturna EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Armandinho Schmidt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Paulo Botelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeferson da Rocha during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by Itacara SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cauã Meireles was slow to take the kick. During this time Soturna EC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Cauã Meireles got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Luís Paulo Botelho quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Luizão Peres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Soturna EC's Hermínio Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldinho Cruz in the 80th minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Itacara SC's goal looked a bit too open when Elder de Brito came free, but Luís Paulo Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Soturna EC's Armandinho Schmidt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luís Paulo Botelho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hermínio Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldinho Cruz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Christian Tepedino fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itacara SC's protests and gave Christian Tepedino a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 95 minutes, Elder de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Soturna EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elder de Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over Soturna EC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Itacara SC throughout the match.
