Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) In the 3rd minute, Itororo SS's Kléberson Mandrak ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cipriano Saraiva. Cipriano Saraiva yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Cipriano Saraiva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Alberto de Senna in the 6th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kléberson Mandrak in the 9th minute of play forced Clube de regatas Ajax's goalkeeper Cipriano Saraiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clube de regatas Ajax's Cipriano Saraiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Washington Valladares in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute Dorival Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Betão Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ulysses de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dorival Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betão Mazza having to interfere. Itororo SS's Betão Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorival Passos in the 26th minute of play. Dieguinho da Fonseca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Betão Mazza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Romeu Lopez during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Clube de regatas Ajax's Romeu Lopez got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 34th minute of the match Clube de regatas Ajax got a corner. Itororo SS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Romeu Lopez ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Clube de regatas Ajax's corner Romeu Lopez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Betão Mazza quite easily take care of the ball. Betão Mazza came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Clube de regatas Ajax's Bernardinho Paulista. But to his dismay, Bernardinho Paulista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. A collision led to Itororo SS getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Evaristo Soeiro hit a great ball. After 43 played minutes Itororo SS got a freekick which was hit by Washington Valladares. Clube de regatas Ajax's Cipriano Saraiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléberson Mandrak in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kléberson Mandrak was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Clube de regatas Ajax defense, Kléberson Mandrak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cipriano Saraiva. The Clube de regatas Ajax fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cipriano Saraiva should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorival Passos in the 58th minute of play forced Itororo SS's goalkeeper Betão Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Alberto de Senna took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cipriano Saraiva. Cipriano Saraiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. When Washington Valladares fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itororo SS's protests and gave Washington Valladares a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Romeu Lopez got free with Betão Mazza in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Clube de regatas Ajax's Dorival Passos in 72 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Betão Mazza guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Dorival Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dorival Passos struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Betão Mazza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clube de regatas Ajax. When Washington Valladares was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 80 minutes had been played. Evaristo Soeiro hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 90 minutes into the match, Itororo SS's goal looked a bit too open when Dorival Passos came free, but Betão Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Aloísio Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute, Dorival Passos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
