Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Saldanha in the 5th minute of play forced Parada's goalkeeper Valdemar Rosado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Goitacazes EC's zone, Benjamin Quaresma stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dagoberto Cardoso came out of the goal and Benjamin Quaresma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valdemar Rosado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Urbano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernando Dantas hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute, Ademar Moreno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Betinho Marques blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dagoberto Cardoso having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Goitacazes EC's Luís Gustavo Mumbach got a free kick in the 15th minute. Betinho Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dagoberto Cardoso having to interfere. Dagoberto Cardoso came out of the goal and Betinho Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Benjamin Quaresma came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Parada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Quaresma couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Goitacazes EC booed when Parada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute Goitacazes EC were awarded a corner. Agostinho Dante went to the cornerflag to take it. Agostinho Dante made a great header on Goitacazes EC's corner, it was just that Parada's Valdemar Rosado managed to reach the ball for a save. The wind increased when Manuel Saldanha made the kick off in the second half. Betinho Marques's late challenge caught a Goitacazes EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Betinho Marques helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd minute, Betinho Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benjamin Quaresma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Naldo Magalhães charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Naldo Magalhães the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dagoberto Cardoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benjamin Quaresma's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Manuel Saldanha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Valdemar Rosado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Goitacazes EC's Dagoberto Cardoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betinho Marques in the 76th minute of play. After 79 minutes of play, Goitacazes EC's Tomás Urbano made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valdemar Rosado was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tomás Urbano was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 86th minute. Goitacazes EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Parada's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Manuel Saldanha 91 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. If Benjamin Quaresma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
