Caio Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo José Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Carlos Alberto Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Caco Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Léo Paraense kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Caboto's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Sabóia came free, but Zé Roberto Pernambucano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulinho Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Roberto Pernambucano having to interfere. When Tostão Novaes fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caboto's protests and gave Tostão Novaes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Caboto getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Tostão Novaes hit a great ball. Ernesto Sabóia kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Caco Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Carlos Alberto Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute Caco Novaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Alberto Berger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Alberto Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo José Linares in the 46th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Carlos Alberto Berger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caco Novaes in the 58th minute. After having played for 60 minutes, Caco Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caboto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caco Novaes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 63 minutes of play, Caboto's Caco Novaes made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Alberto Berger was left in no man's land by his defense there! Paulo José Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Alberto Berger having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Canauani's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo José Linares came free, but Carlos Alberto Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Canauani's zone, Caco Novaes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Alberto Berger came out of the goal and Caco Novaes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Breno Dias kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. When Paulo José Linares came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Caboto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo José Linares couldn't finish the play. Caco Novaes took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Alberto Berger. Carlos Alberto Berger dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Caboto walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
