MOGIANA's José Paulo Rosa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 39 minutes into the match, Cedral's goalkeeper Ramiro de Queiroz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jano Seco. José Paulo Rosa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 41stth minute tested the skills of Ramiro de Queiroz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nilton Campidelis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tibúrcio Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. MOGIANA's protests and gave Wágner Rezende a yellow card for diving instead. After 48 played minutes E.C. MOGIANA got a freekick which was hit by Wágner Rezende.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tibúrcio Lago made a kick off. Delfim Arruda hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Carlos Eduardo Pombal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nilton Campidelis. E.C. MOGIANA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 58 minutes of play, Cedral's Alfredão Porto made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nilton Campidelis was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Cedral's zone, José Paulo Rosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramiro de Queiroz came out of the goal and José Paulo Rosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 65 minutes, José Paulo Rosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. E.C. MOGIANA's goalkeeper Nilton Campidelis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Glauco Guedes.
