Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Arlindo Mesquita made the kick off which started today's match. Arlindo Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Arí Pernambucano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Puiracu's zone, Marco Castro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Róbson Paranaense came out of the goal and Marco Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Vágner Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flor's supporters rose to their feet, but Vágner Botelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Róbson Paranaense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 13th minute, Remo Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute of the match Abel Zanette shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arí Pernambucano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Vágner Botelho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 21st match minute, Puiracu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mazinho da Costa to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, Vágner Botelho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marco Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Róbson Paranaense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Vágner Botelho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Róbson Paranaense was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 27th minute, Vágner Botelho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Róbson Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Puiracu's goalkeeper Róbson Paranaense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Osmar Koehler charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Osmar Koehler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 40 played minutes Puiracu got a freekick which was hit by Luizinho Matorin. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Puiracu's goalkeeper Róbson Paranaense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vágner Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Róbson Paranaense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marco Castro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Róbson Paranaense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marco Castro made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Flor's Vágner Botelho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Róbson Paranaense. Róbson Paranaense yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Marco Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Renato Cearense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Puiracu booed when Flor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remo Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Puiracu's goalkeeper Róbson Paranaense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Marco Castro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Róbson Paranaense was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. In the 76th minute Marco Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Róbson Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Vágner Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flor's supporters rose to their feet, but Vágner Botelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. With a little luck, Puiracu's Róbson Paranaense got control of the ball when Vágner Botelho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vágner Botelho's late challenge caught a Puiracu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vágner Botelho helped the player get up and apologised. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arlindo Mesquita in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arí Pernambucano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marco Castro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Róbson Paranaense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. In the 95th match minute, Puiracu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Alberto Pires to maneuver through the defense. The Flor supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Flor would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
